Under eye Filler / Tear trough filler

What is Tear Trough Filler

Tear Trough filler is a treatment where we place dermal filler in the under eye area to lift and add volume to this area. This is a good treatment for sunken hollow eyes and can make it look brighter. It can make your appearance look less tired and more refreshed.

It can also add lost volume to the mid face. A great treatment for dark circles under the eyes.

How does Tear Trough Filler work?

Dermal filler is naturally occurring hyalauronic acid and we place this in the tear trough cavity using a micro cannula. If you suffer from dark and hollow under eyes this can be a great treatment to add lift and volume. It can make you look less tired and rejuvenate your eyes.

It is a very subtle treatment and you notice the real benefits when applying your concealer.

HOW IS THE TREATMENT ADMINISTERED

For this treatment we almost always use a micro cannula technique. This is an advanced medical procedure and so it is important for it to be carried out by a medical professional.

The procedure itself takes around 10 minutes and the results last 9-12 months.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS

This is a safe procedure but it is important to remember with any injectable treatment there is always a risk of swelling and bruising. We minimise this by using a microcannula technique which only has one entry point on each cheek.

FAQs

All our appointments are 1 hour long. Don't worry the treatment does not take that long! We keep them this length to take a thorough medical history and also to take our time to understand your expectations.

Of course you can! There is absolutely no down time in this treatment. Do note that you may have some swelling after the treatment.

Yes you can but we recommend at least waiting 4 hours after the treatment. The reason for this is to reduce the risk of infection.

In this treatment we use a maximum of 1ml in total (meaning 0.5ml per eye). This is because the tear trough cavity is small and so we do not want to over filler it. You can have further top ups if you need more.

Unfortunately we cannot treat anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding. The reason for this is there is not enough evidence to show the effects of dermal filler on pregnancy or breastfeeding.

The hyaluronic acid works by drawing water to the area. When we place it under the tear trough cavity it lifts and raises it adding lots of volume and fullness to the under eyes.
